Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)

Course Description: The Trauma Nurse Core Course is a two day course sponsored by the the Emergency Nurses Association.TNCC is an information loaded course that provides core-level knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with implementing the trauma nursing process. The trauma nursing process is used to standardize the approach to trauma care and is reflected throughout the course and manual. The TNCC teaches a systematic approach for the care of the injured patient.

Course Length: Approximately 16 hours

Intended Audience: TNCC may be officially attended by RNs. It is recommended that the participant have at least six months of clinical nursing in an emergency care setting. It is assumed that the course participant possesses generic nursing knowledge, has an understanding of emergency care terminology, and has familiarity with standard emergency equipment

Written/Skills Exam: Required for completion
