Advanced Airway Management

Course Description: This course covers the difficulties and and pitfalls associated with prehospital, and emergency room airway management. Prediction of the difficult airway, the management of the difficult and failed airway, and the detailed use of rescue airway devices are thoroughly reviewed. Participants will gain insight and skill in airway assessment and use of alternative and assist airway devices, and the use of rescue airway devices including  Endo-tracheal Intubation, King Airway, LMA, OPA, NPA, Use of the Bougie, preventing unrecognized esophageal intubation, Bag mask ventilation, special patient populations (Pediatric, trauma etc..) . Capnography, EDD, Colormetric devices, needle chest decompression and needle chrichotyhrotomy are also discussed and practiced.
